About

For hundreds of years the phrase "Let them eat cake" has been associated with Marie Antoinette, queen of France during part of the 17th century. It was believed that Marie Antoinette was so disconnected from the perils of her people during a time of famine, that upon hearing they had no bread, responded with, "Then let them eat cake!" Really Marie?

Luckily for her, historians say that Marie Antoinette did not say such a line. The dates of various famines don't add up to when Marie's husband was on the throne; and recovered letters show that Marie Antoinette was a very charitable and kind woman.

But clearing Marie Antoinette's good name is not the point. The point is that I'm often quoting the phrase, "Let them eat cake!" Just this morning I found those words uttered from my mouth as several small children anxiously hovered around the cupcakes, waiting for the "right" time to eat them (...after the adults got to eat...after the slideshow...after we sang 'Happy Birthday'...after, after, after). The adults were ready to keep going with other festivities, but the kids started chanting, "Cupcakes!" And then it happened. I blurted out, "Let them eat cake!" I'm worse than Marie!

Alas, names of cupcake places are usually something cute, witty, or some play-on-words. And so, I give you "Let Them Eat Cupcakes". You're welcome.

A Little About Me

I am a stay-at-home-mom who has an obsession with making cupcakes! My husband is thoroughly enjoying my love for baking. I absolutely love making "Mini's" (or A-Cups, as I like to call them). After all, who can't have a Mini? On a diet? You can have a Mini! Don't want your child to have a sugar high? They can certainly handle a Mini

My most favorite "Mini" of all times is my baby, Lincoln. I will try my hardest to not fill up the pages of a cupcake blog with photos of him. He's just so darn cute though!
My favorite "Mini" - Lincoln.
